Biking in the Wilder Ranch, 7/20/2008

My first ever real trail biking. My original plan is to ride down directly to my house through UCSC, but missed a turn point and I was drawn to a half-mile steep downhill trail (12%) in the Pogonip Park. This only biking trail in the park connects UCSC and the Henry Cowell SP, which took me to route 9. The route is 40% on paved road/path, 40% on double track/fireroad, and 20% on single track trail. It's kind of an easy loop. I have to get off the bike at the steepest part of the trail, mostly due to the slippy rubble stone road surface. It's a great fun to ride on the single track trail, I enjoyed a lot. I'll try to expand the route a bit next time.
